PLANT GUARANTEE

We are so confident of the quality of our stock that we offer a six month plant guarantee on most items, so if you find that a plant that you purchased is not performing as expected or has not survived, we will replace your plant or refund the full amount. Just return the plant along with a valid receipt and we will endeavour to help you determine the reason the plant did not succeed and thus hopefully prevent furthur problems in the garden.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Our plant guarantee is valid for 6 months from date of purchase.
  • Original proof of purchase must be provided along with the plant when requiring a refund or exchange.
  • Please note that we do not provide a refund or exchange for change of mind.
  • Vegetable and herb seedlings and potted colour are not covered by the plant guarantee.
  • Our plant guarantee does not cover trade plants and plants that are to be used in commercial or large landscape sites.
  • In order to get the most from your plant, position it in a part of the garden/house that is appropriate for the chosen species. If in doubt please ask one of our friendly staff for assistance before making your selection. If a plant is situated in the right spot (ie appropriate soil type, sun or shade, protected or exposed position etc.), it will be much more likely to thrive and therefore will be less likely to be attacked by insect pests and diseases.
  • When planting, dig a hole twice the width and at least as deep as the root ball. Place the plant in the hole and backfill, using your hands to firm down the soil. Ensure that the soil surface is at the same height as the soil surface of the plant when it was in its pot. If using a slow-release fertiliser at the time of planting, ensure that you use a native fertiliser if planting proteas and native plants, and do not apply directly to the roots as this can cause them to burn. Rather, apply it just below or at the soil surface as this is where the feeder roots will take up most of the nutrients. Please be aware that soils that have been enriched with manure or compost may be unsuitable for some native plants.
  • Ensure that you water the plant in well after planting. Follow-up watering is then required every few days, gradually easing off until the plant is established.
  • If for some reason your plant is not thriving or you suspect it may be suffering from insect pest or disease attack, please feel free to bring in a specimen or a photo and we will help you to identify the problem and take corrective action to ensure you have a healthy and beautiful garden that you can enjoy year round!
